Frequently Asked Questions
A: The Hawk Merlin 360 is designed for severe-duty floor preparation tasks, including concrete resurfacing, natural stone polishing, wood screening, and sanding. Its "Floating Head" WD™ (Wheels Down) design ensures the pads and brushes maintain 100% contact with the floor for consistent results.
A: The 360° dust collection system is integrated into the machine's brush cover, capturing airborne dust and debris from all angles at the source. It has a 2" exhaust port for connecting to a commercial tank vacuum (1.5" or 2" hose) to maintain a cleaner, safer worksite and help meet dust control regulations.
A: Key features include: Heavy-duty, all-steel construction. 1.5 HP TEFC motor. Triple-planetary XHD 11:1 helical-cut industrial gears. 165 RPM brush/pad speed. Included 80 lb. removable weight set with pin locks. Foot-operated lift-assist lever for transport. 50 ft. industrial power cord. Low 66 dB operation, meeting GS42 standard.
A: The handle can be adjusted to any desired work position for comfortable operation. Simply pull the pull-pin and move the handle to the desired height, then firmly push the pull-pin back into the adjustment holes to lock it in position.
A: The machine is steered in a forward and backward movement using the "Floating Head" design, unlike traditional buffers that use side-to-side movement. To turn, you apply slight upward pressure on the handle to move right, or slight downward pressure to move left.
A: Ensure the dust collection vacuum is working properly. Check for blockages in the hose or the brush shroud duct system. Empty the vacuum's dustbin and clean or replace its filters as needed to ensure optimal airflow. Also ensure the flexible skirt is making good contact with the floor to reduce dust leakage.
