Frequently Asked Questions
After each use, the equipment should be cleaned inside and out. For extractors and wet/dry vacuums, drain and rinse the tanks to prevent chemical buildup and odors. Remove and clean all filters, screens, and debris baskets. For all vacuums, check the power cord for damage, and for backpack vacuums, empty the dust bag and clean the filters.
No, EDIC carpet extractors and wet vacuums are not designed for dry vacuuming unless explicitly stated as a wet/dry model with proper filtration installed. Using them without a dry filter can damage the vacuum motor and void the warranty.
Use only commercially available cleaning solutions and defoamer intended for use with extraction machines of this type. Do not use dyes, bleaches, ammonia, or other harsh additives. Powdered chemicals are not recommended; if used, they must be completely pre-mixed in a separate container before being added to the solution tank. Always use defoamer in the recovery tank to prevent foam from damaging the vacuum motor.
Store the equipment indoors in a clean, dry place protected from freezing temperatures. Leave tanks open to air dry completely to prevent mold and odors.
Check the following: the vacuum lid might not be sealed properly against the tank; the drain valve may be open; the vacuum hose or connections are loose or leaking; the filter screen or debris basket is clogged with dirt/lint; or the wand/nozzle is plugged.
All servicing and repairs must be performed by an authorized EDIC service station to ensure proper maintenance and to avoid voiding the warranty. You can contact EDIC customer support to locate an approved service center.
