Frequently Asked Questions
Key features include a powerful 1.5 HP dual-capacitor AC motor, all-steel construction with welded frame for durability, a triple-planetary heavy-duty gear system, and a 2-piece detachable handle design for easy transport and storage. It also has a quiet operation at around 66 dB.
The BlackHawk is a versatile machine used for a variety of commercial floor care tasks, including stripping, scrubbing, and polishing/buffing. The dual-speed models allow you to switch between lower RPM for aggressive scrubbing and higher RPM for polishing and buffing.
Adjust the handle to a comfortable height (hip level). Place both hands firmly on the handle grips, push the thumb-operated safety switch lock forward, and then squeeze the dual steel operating triggers to start the motor.
Control is achieved by applying subtle pressure with your body or hands. To move the machine to the left, slowly apply slight downward pressure on the handle. To move to the right, apply slight upward pressure. The machine should be guided smoothly without sudden motions.
Standard single-speed BlackHawk models operate at 175 RPM. The 2-speed models offer both a lower speed (around 175 RPM for scrubbing) and a higher speed (around 320 RPM on some 2-speed models for polishing, or up to 1250 RPM for dedicated burnishers) to suit different tasks.
After each use, unplug the power cord from the outlet by grasping the plug, not the cord. Remove and rinse the floor pad or brush and store it flat to prevent misshaping and wobbling. Wipe down the exterior of the machine.
